Climb aboard the MV George Robinson

The Arthur River is unique to Tasmania, and the best way to see it is on the MV George Robinson, a beautiful vessel with old world charm.

The Arthur River is one of the State’s seven major rivers, unique because it is the only one which is completely wild, never having been logged or dammed. There has not been a hot fire through the rainforest for almost 650 years.

“A Truly Tasmanian Experience”

We cruise with a full team aboard the M.V. George Robinson to ensure you have a great day. Enjoy a cuppa during the 14km trip to the Rainforest Landing where, after an optional guided walk, you can enjoy a BBQ lunch with wine.  A major highlight is watching  white-bellied sea eagles swoop close to the boat to pluck fish thrown into the water by our crew. There are opportunities to  spot local wildlife such as wallabies, pademelons, spotted quolls, kingfishers, wedge-tailed eagles and parrots. Our tour guides are all local people and they impart a wealth of knowledge on the plant life, the history of the area and of the Aboriginal tribes who once lived at Arthur River. While our skipper loves to chat, on the way back there are always a few surprises…face painting, a didgeridoo lesson, maybe some poetry or simply relax and enjoy the ride.

With a warm and friendly atmosphere, old world charm, natural beauty and local knowledge, a cruise on board the M.V. George Robinson is truly a Tasmanian experience to remember.
